Equipment Hire
There are literally hundreds of outlets between your place and The Lodge where you can hire every imaginable piece of equipment and clothing for your ski holiday.
If you want to cut down on the amount of equipment you have to bring with you to The Lodge, you can always hire from the Snowline Ski Centre hire outlet, next to the car park, directly opposite the Smiggins lifts. Guests at the The Lodge receive a 10% discount on Snowline's retail prices. The added advantage of "on snow" hire is that, should your equipment require adjustment (or replacement because it doesn't quite fit), you just have ski down to the hire centre and it will be sorted out in no time, with no fuss. Phone the hire centre on (02) 6457-5224. Pricing details can be found here:
Mountain Passes
There is a variety of packages and pricing structures for access to lifts.
These include: Early Season Passes, Season Passes, Bonus Season Special Passes and Spring Value Super Passes.
You can purchase any Mountain Pass or Lift/Lesson Package directly from The Lodge, when you make your accommodation Booking. You'll save all that time spent in queues!
Ski Lessons
Perisher Blue Resort offers a wide variety of ski lesson packages, to suit every skill level of student. Ski School runs at each of the major centres of the resort, including Smiggins. Lessons are offered in both group and private settings.

Snow Safety
Being safety conscious will ensure that no only you, but your fellow skiers, will have an enjoyable experience at the snow. Here are some safety issues for your information.
- Chains: Unless you're driving a 4WD, you are required to carry chains whenever entering the Koscuiszko National park. Chains can be hired from numerous outlets in Jindabyne, Cooma, Berridale and other local hirers. Make sure you have practised fitting the chains BEFORE you enter the National Park.
- Clothing: Dress for the possibly variable alpine weather conditions. Wear insulating clothes on the inside and wind/water proof clothing on the outside. Beanies, warm thin long wollen socks and waterproof gloves are highly recommended as essential.
- Sun Protection: Despite the colder climate, sunburn is a serious risk at the snow. Make sure you wear a high SPF factor sunscreen.
- Toboggans: Toboggans are prohibited on any Perisher Blue slope. National Parks and Wildlife provides a toboggan area beside the main Perisher car park on Pipers Ridge. Only ever use a moulded plastic toboggan. Don't use plastic bags.
- Alpine Responsibility Code: Perisher Blue has instituted a Code of Conduct for all users of the resort's facilities. It's basic message is "Ski and Ride with Care". There are 10 points in the Code. As failure to observe the code may result in cancellation of your ticket, it is in your best interest to read and know the Code before you hit the slopes.

For the junior skiers, Perisher has Junior Snow Kids (ages 3-6 years) with morning, afternoon and all-day programs. Explorer Kids runs at all major facilities (including Smiggins), again with morning, afternoon and all-day programs.
